Dell acquires IP SAN vendor EqualLogic for $1.4 billion, 11/05/07: Dell announced Monday plans to buy IP storage-area network vendor EqualLogic for $1.4 billion, strengthening an already booming part of Dell’s business.

Cisco to buy policy management vendor for $100 million , 11/01/07: Cisco this week announced an agreement to acquire Securent, a provider of policy management software for enterprises, for $100 million. Securent is privately held and based in Mountain View, Calif. The company’s distributed policy platform lets enterprises administer, enforce, and audit access to data, communications, and applications in heterogeneous IT application environments, Cisco says.

MetroPCS withdraws merger offer for Leap Wireless, 11/01/07: After being turned down earlier this year, it seems that MetroPCS is calling off its proposed marriage with Leap Wireless for good.

McAfee buys Web site security company ScanAlert for $51M, 10/30/07: McAfee will acquire ScanAlert, a Web application security vendor, for $51 million, the companies announced Tuesday.

Symantec CEO sees more acquisitions ahead, 11/02/07: The future holds more acquisitions for Symantec as it looks to strengthen key business areas and keep pace with evolving online security threats, its CEO said Friday.

Iron Mountain to buy e-discovery company, 10/31/07: Major storage provider Iron Mountain said Wednesday it intends to purchase Stratify, a maker of document discovery software, for about $158 million in cash.

Wi-LAN sues Apple, Dell, HP, 19 others, 11/01/07: As if there weren’t enough patent lawsuits flying around the telecommunications industry, Wi-LAN announced today it has filed suit against 22 companies.

Google shares break $700 on reports of wireless talks, 10/31/07: Google's stock broke through the $700 mark on Wednesday, after press reports that the search engine giant is in advanced talks with U.S. wireless carriers over adoption of mobile phone software Google is reportedly developing.

Covad sells to private-equity firm for $304 million, 10/30/07: Platinum Equity plans to acquire Covad Communications for about $304 million, making the communications services company the latest technology company to sell to a private-equity firm.
