Voice-recognition next Cisco acquisition target?, 10/05/07: Cisco may be on the acquisition trail again, this time hunting for voice-recognition technology. Barry O'Sullivan, head of Cisco's Voice Technology Group, told Reuters the company wants to add more sophisticated voice-recognition technology to its products aimed at helping office workers communicate more flexibly. He was not sure if the network equipment maker would develop such technology internally or through partnerships or acquisitions.

Cisco aims to sway FCC on digital TV regulations, 10/05/07: Concerned that wireless devices might interfere with its cable TV set-top boxes Cisco asked the FCC today to consider all possible alternatives before it decided how to regulate the use of such devices operating in television white spaces.

Two schools say Cisco switches don't make the grade, 10/04/07: Cisco’s dominance in enterprise networking doesn’t necessarily mean it is the only game in town — or that you jeopardize job security by bypassing Cisco.
