Red Hat, Novell sued for patent infringement, 10/12/07: Linux vendors Red Hat and Novell are being sued for patent infringement by IP Innovation and Technology Licensing. Hess outsources IT to IBM; move affects 50 employees, 10/12/07: Energy supplier Hess is outsourcing its IT infrastructure to IBM in a five-and-a-half year contract valued at $73 million, the company announced today. Oracle offers $6.7 billion to buy BEA Systems, 10/12/07: Oracle Friday announced that it has offered to buy middleware vendor BEA Systems for $17 per share in cash.
