What is a FeedSweep?

Displaying news feeds on web sites, in blogs and newsletters is growing in popularity.

Not to be left behind, the homepage of TechNewsletters has set aside a large area to display relevant news feeds for our site visitors interest. We use FeedSweep to display these feeds.

What is FeedSweep? FeedSweep is a relatively new free online service that makes it easy for web site publishers to display news headlines on their web sites.

In 3 easy steps you choose the feeds you want to capture and customize the way you want them be displayed. FeedSweep uses this information to generate a snippet of HTML. Cut and paste this HTML into your web site. FeedSweep takes it from there.

How does it work? FeedSweep uses a combination of XML and JavaScript to read feeds from other web sites. The feeds you requested are captured, massaged and displayed as HTML content on your web page.

You never have to worry about updating the content of these feeds. FeedSweep works in the background looking for new or changed publisher feeds. Any changes to feeds you display will be automatically updated.

For those who are interested -- FeedSweep supports major feed formats including RSS 1.0 and 2.0, Atom and Backslash.
