Windows now serves Coke
Dare I say it? This is a refreshing use of network technology. Add a Windows CE touchscreen, fancy "microdosing" technology and a network connection to a Coca-Cola machine and you get a the next "must have" soda fountain device.

Microsoft confirms release of "family pack" Windows 7 for homes with multiple PCs
Microsoft confirmed it would release a rumored "family pack" of the Windows 7 Home Premium edition of the OS for households with multiple PCs. This would allow the installation of the operating system on as many as three PCs. Microsoft was mum on pricing of the pack.

New Zealand Postal Service ditches Microsoft Office for Google Apps
Google has signed on the New Zealand Postal Service as its largest user to date of Google Apps. NZ will be yanking out Microsoft Office and rolling out Google Apps to 2,100 employees in a deal that will save the country $2 million in hardware costs over three years, it said.

We already knew that Palm has a whole host of Apple hires, including CEO Jon Rubinstein, and it seems that Microsoft is also following their lead now. Redmond has hired former Apple retail estate chief George Blankenship as a consultant while the company goes about launching its own retail chain.
