This is for two reasons, firstly the carriers are not interested in finding ways for customers to reduce their phone bills and secondly is this solving a problem that doesn't exist?. iPhone is only tip of mobile Internet device onslaught, 09/14/07: A study by ABI Research says that the iPhone may be only a precursor to what mobile Internet devices will be capable of in the near future. Exchange 2007 SP1 enhancements to OCS: Microsoft Subnet blogger Alex Lewis writes: “There are a LOT of new features in Exchange 2007 SP1. It seems like more of a feature pack than a service pack.” He lists them all.
News grab bag: FMC, free Wi-Fi, Google Phone and our perspectives, 09/12/07: Today, we’d like to highlight a few announcements and developments in the news that affect convergence. The first report comes from the United Nations International Telecommunications Union (ITU) which estimates that global phone service has quadrupled over the past decade to four billion lines, which includes 1.27 billion fixed lines and 2.68 billion mobile subscribers; some 61% of mobile customers live in “developing countries.” |
