Qualcomm counsel quits as legal troubles mount
Qualcomm Inc.'s top lawyer has left following a string of court defeats for the mobile technology vendor. Most recently, Qualcomm failed to win a reversal of an import ban on new cell phones that use some of its chips and also was told it can't enforce some patents on video technology.

Wireless kept off core Olympic IT roster
Wireless networking has been deemed too risky for the 2008 Olympics. There will be no wireless used among the core systems of the Olympic Games, said Leon Xie, director of Olympic Technology and Sponsorship at Lenovo. All networking will take place over wirelines, including the backup system.
