0Base-T, 08/09/07: You are no doubt familiar with the different terms used to refer to Ethernet over copper cabling - 10Base-T, 100Base-T, and 1000Base-T, for Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet, respectively. I recently came across a new one (new to me): 0Base-T.

D-Link ships dirt-cheap PoE switch, 08/06/07: D-Link is the latest networking vendor to push Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) to SMBs and small offices. The company's latest DES-1008P 10/100 switch can supply up to 15.4W of power on four of its eight ports, and lists for just £80 ($161).
