- TSA Wants To Track Your Phone's Movements
By Ed Hansberry
The Transportation Security Administration is proposing to install
devices in airports that would track your electronic devices as you
move through the facility. They claim this would only be used as you
wait in security lines to see how long the average wait times are and
then use that information to make adjustments to better serve you. Uh huh.

- Google Gives BlackBerry Storm New Search App
By Eric Zeman
Google finally made a version of its Mobile Search application available
to the BlackBerry Storm and Storm2 handsets. The app includes useful
features such as Voice Search and stored search history. It's a free
download.

- Shoot Yourself In The Foot Much, Clearwire?
By Eric Zeman
Clearwire CEO Bill Morrow didn't do the company any favors in a recent
discussion with the press. He believes that the world should agree on
one next-generation wireless networking technology. In theory, that's
a great idea. Rather than say, "It should be WiMax," he said, "We can
switch to LTE if we have to."

- First Impressions Of HTC EVO 4G WiMax Phone
By Eric Zeman
We spent some quality time with the HTC EVO 4G smartphone at the CTIA
trade show. This impressive WiMax-powered device offers a lot and could
help Sprint's bottom line.

- Verizon's Skype App Knee-Capped With No Wi-Fi
By Eric Zeman
Skype Mobile is set to debut for Verizon smartphones starting March 25.
In our hands-on tests, it works quite well. I find it deeply troubling,
however, that Verizon has killed off the ability to make Skype calls via
Wi-Fi. Calls will only be connected through Verizon's 1x voice network.

- Application Choices On Windows Phone 7
By Ed Hansberry
Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 Series application distribution model is
very similar to what Apple does for the iPhone, much to the chagrin of
developers and some users. You will only be able to install applications
from the marketplace. You cannot keep copies of the installer on the device
and there is no side-loading, which means if it isn't in the marketplace,
it isn't on your phone. Microsoft, however, doesn't appear to be headed
down the path of blocking apps that compete with built in apps. That's
good news.

- Mozilla Gives Up On Windows Mobile
By Eric Zeman
Today Mozilla confirmed that it has halted all development of Firefox
browsers for the Windows Mobile platform. That includes Windows Mobile
6.5 and Windows Phone 7. Does Mozilla have a good reason?

- HTC EVO 4G Is The 'Super' Phone For Sprint
By Eric Zeman
Sprint and handset maker HTC have finally debuted the long-rumored
WiMax-powered Android smartphone. It's called the EVO 4G. Think of it as
an HD2 on steroids. Huge screen, fast processor, lots of sex appeal.

- RoboNets: Application-Aware Networks Advance
Switch vendors have been plotting for years to sideline severs by making
their devices application aware, with some envisioning a day when data
centers are little more than a collection of virtual machines running
on a giant switch. Bleeding edge, or a smart goal for large enterprises?
