As users gathered at VMworld in San Francisco on Wednesday to learn about virtualization and cloud computing, EMC was stepping up its efforts to help enterprises that adopt private clouds do it right.

NetApp offers $1 million to virtualization user
NetApp is giving $1 million of NetApp storage hardware, software and services to a user that is adopting server virtualization. Called the NetApp $1 Million Virtualization Challenge, NetApp is going to judge applicants who register for the challenge by Sept. 21, 2009. Users (except those in Rhode Island and Puerto Rico) can apply here.

EMC to acquire legal discovery vendor Kazeon
EMC on Tuesday said it will buy Kazeon Systems, a company that develops products for collecting and analyzing electronic information for legal discovery.

Microsoft Subnet is giving away training from New Horizons and 15 copies of Windows Server 2008 How-To. Cisco Subnet is giving away 15 copies of Interconnecting Data Centers Using VPLS.
