Xirrus joins 11n product parade for enterprise wireless LANs, 05/29/07:  Xirrus is the latest of the wireless LAN vendors to announce an access point that supports the most recent draft of the IEEE 802.11n high-throughput standard.

New antiphishing, antispam specifications unveiled, 05/23/07:  Specifications for a new e-mail authentication tool to help fight against phishing and spam were published yesterday by the IETF, opening the way for software vendors and e-mail service providers to find better ways to protect e-mail recipients.

nCircle buys compliance vendor Cambia, 05/22/07:  Software vendor nCircle Network Security has acquired Cambia Security, a provider of risk and compliance management software.

Senate bill's H-1B provisions aren't pleasing, 05/23/07:  The immigration reform deal announced in the U.S. Senate last week is a work in progress with an uncertain future in both houses of Congress. And its H-1B provisions aren't making either proponents or critics of the visa program happy.

Coalition pushes for U.S. broadband plan, 05/24/07:  Fifty-four organizations, including Amazon.com, Google and TiVO, have called on the U.S. government to create a national broadband policy, saying there's no plan now in place focused on providing affordable access for all residents.

Groups praise U.S. broadband data bill, 05/25/07:  A bill introduced in the U.S. Senate this week would require the FCC to reconsider what bandwidth rates qualify as broadband, a move that won praise from some groups that call current broadband penetration statistics misleading.
