NETFLASH: BREAKING NEWS FROM NETWORKWORLD.COM

By Jeff Caruso

Voice and video traveling over wireless LANs is the dream. IEEE
802.11e is the new standard in support of that dream. But
experts warn that the brand-new standard isn't without its

The Internet free ride has to come to an end

They say there ain't no such thing as a free lunch, and that
rule applies to the Internet backbone as much as anything else.
Johna Till Johnson this week notes that the carriers can't

Massachusetts outfit switches to more secure network

The events of Sept. 11, 2001, forced the Massachusetts Port
Authority, which operates Boston's Logan Airport and other
properties, to re-examine its security practices on a number of
levels. While the attacks didn't directly result in Massport
revamping its internal network, they did expedite that effort.

Gordano enhances messaging server's security, anti-spam features

Messaging server vendor Gordano Tuesday released security
enhancements for its Messaging Server 11.0 that are designed to
help thwart spam and provide an extra dose of anti-virus
protection.

Sun, Google sign distribution deal, say little about future
together

Sun and Google Tuesday announced a multi-year deal to help each
other distribute software, a move that fell well short of an
anticipated high-impact deal to challenge Microsoft on the
desktop.
