Yesterday, eBay announced it was buying VoIP software maker Skype for an astounding $2.6 billion, and possibly as much as $4.1 billion if you add in performance bonuses. That's a whole lot of free phone calls. I think eBay overpaid --- check out my blog entry for details on why eBay got snookered. This sky-high price paid by eBay should come as no surprise. We're now in the midst of a VoIP bubble, much like the previous Internet bubble, as I point out in a previous blog entry.
