Editor's Note: Has eBay Been Suckered By Skype?

Yesterday, eBay announced it was buying VoIP software maker Skype for an astounding $2.6 billion, and possibly as much as $4.1 billion if you add in performance bonuses.

That's a whole lot of free phone calls. I think eBay overpaid --- check out my blog entry for details on why eBay got snookered.

This sky-high price paid by eBay should come as no surprise. We're now in the midst of a VoIP bubble, much like the previous Internet bubble, as I point out in a previous blog entry.

As you can see, I'm touting my blog these days, because Networking Pipeline has a whole new blogging system, including the ability to let you talk back to me. So check my blog daily and let me know what you think.
