From Bradley Mitchell, your Guide to Computer Networking
Some news outlets have described it as a "Wi-Fi traffic cop" capable of increasing the network speed of a Wi-Fi hotspot by 700%.Is WiFox for real... or just another over-hyped piece of technology?

How Fast Is a Wi-Fi Network?
The maximum speed of a hotspot or any other kind of Wi-Fi network depends on which version of the standard it supports, plus other factors. The Wi-Fi network you're using has to have some serious issues for something like WiFox to improve its performance by 700%.

Why Does Connection Speed Keep Changing on a Wi-Fi Network?
Wi-Fi network connections automatically adjust their data rate (connection speed) based on the quality of the communication signal. Sometimes called dynamic rate scaling, this feature of Wi-Fi extends the range at which wireless devices can connect to each other in return for this reduced performance.

How to Save Time and Money Using Wi-Fi On the iPhone
An Apple iPhone connects to the Internet automatically from most anywhere using cellular networking. iPhones also contains built-in Wi-Fi. Although some setup is required, using iPhone Wi-Fi connections instead of cellular can save you both time and money.

Change the Wi-Fi Channel Number to Avoid Interference
Most home wireless networks transmit at least some of their signals in a narrow radio frequency range of 2.4 GHz. Various other electronic devices in a home, such as cordless phones, garage door openers, baby monitors, and microwave ovens, may use this same frequency range. Changing the Wi-Fi channel number on your network can help avoid wireless interference from these other devices.
