A technique called multi-homing makes it possible, with some limitations. | Vending Machines in Japan Becoming Wi-Fi Hotspots Public vending machines are quite common across Japan, so installing Wi-Fi hotspots inside some of them makes sense. Perhaps it's more surprising that this hasn't been tried sooner. If it were the U.S., a sharp increase in advertising banners posted in the vicinity of these smart vending machines would occur.
