From Bradley Mitchell, your Guide to Computer Networking
After struggling with some fairly typical wireless networking issues, Google Vice President Marissa Mayer chose Apple AirPort routers as the new base of her home network. Among several reasons, the primary one was: It worked.

Change the Wi-Fi Channel Number to Avoid Interference
Sprinkling wireless routers throughout your home is one way to avoid dead spots. Blanket coverage in most homes can be accomplished with just two or three. It all sounds great until your neighbors start doing it and their Wi-Fi seeps into your bedroom. Yuck. A little used feature of Wi-Fi called channel number changing can help.

How Many Devices Can Share a Wi-Fi Network?
Large home networks like Ms. Meyer's have 10, 20 or more different devices that require connectivity at least intermittently. Can the average Wi-Fi broadband router handle it?

Sharing Multiple Internet Connections via Multi Homing
If a home has 2 or 3 different routers installed, wouldn't it be cool if the house had 2 or 3 matching Internet connections to expand available bandwidth and divide the load? A technique called multi-homing makes it possible, with some limitations.

Vending Machines in Japan Becoming Wi-Fi Hotspots
Public vending machines are quite common across Japan, so installing Wi-Fi hotspots inside some of them makes sense. Perhaps it's more surprising that this hasn't been tried sooner. If it were the U.S., a sharp increase in advertising banners posted in the vicinity of these smart vending machines would occur. Maybe even before the machines were Wi-Fi ready.
