From Bradley Mitchell, your Guide to Computer Networking
You're quite familiar with a LAN, get the concept of a WAN, and have heard about SAN, too. So what's the next big thing in area networking?

Types of Area Networks
That's right - it's the BAN, short for Body Area Network. It is the idea of attaching sensors to people to monitor their movements and physiological characteristics. Because of this focus on physical monitoring of the individual, BANs are somewhat different from ordinary wearable computing gadgets like The Twitter Dress that simply involve carrying network devices around. Those in the healthcare industry are especially interested in Body Area Networks for their potential in monitoring patients under treatment.

If you had to choose one or the other of these well-known network certifications to go after, which would it be?

What Is an IP Address?
IP addresses are the fundamental method for computers to identify themselves on home networks, the Internet and many other networks. Computers, routers, games consoles and other devices connected to an Internet Protocol network each possess their own IP address. Certain IP addresses are commonly used on local networks.

Top FTP Clients for Windows
An FTP client supports downloading of files across the Internet from computers called FTP servers. FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol, the technology that allows FTP clients and servers to communicate over computer networks. An FTP client is a software program with a GUI (graphical user interface) that provides various options to help manage the process of transferring files.
