Hitachi rolls out new storage platform, management software
Hitachi Data Systems on Monday rolled out its new Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) and new storage management software, Hitachi Command Suite. According to HDS claims, the VSP allows customers to reduce their disk drive costs by as much as 70% due to use of solid state and Serial Attached SCSI disks. The new array can also allow customers to reduce their total cost of ownership per terabyte by as much as 33% and also achieve a 30% reduction in power, cooling an floor space costs, HDS says.
