From Bradley Mitchell, your Guide to Computer Networking
Many folks thought Steve Jobs' struggles with Wi-Fi at the Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference this week were newsworthy. If you've ever tried to run a tech demo big or small, you know the odds of something going wrong are proportional to how many important people are watching. It all goes to show how important mobile Internet access everywhere has become, that seemingly thousands of bloggers want to comment on this one event that they didn't even attend.

What Is Mobile Broadband?
The term "mobile broadband" refers to high-speed wireless Internet connection services designed to be used from arbitrary locations. Beside phones, these network technologies are appearing in laptop computers, automobiles and public transportation.

Whose Mobile Broadband is Fastest?
According to the latest PCMag.com survey, AT&T has the fastest cellular network in the U.S. Unfortunately, it also seems to be the "least consistent" performer. Remember the lawsuits filed over iPhone's Internet connection speeds last year? Things may be improving.

WiMax vs. LTE for Mobile Broadband
WiMax and LTE are the two emerging technologies for high-speed mobile broadband Internet service. Both appear to have similar goals for enabling worldwide wireless data network connectivity for cell phones, laptops and other computing devices. Why then do these two technologies continue to compete with each other, and what are the differences between WiMax and LTE?

What Is Tethering?
Tethering is a method for configuring computers (typically, laptops) with wireless access to the Internet using, basically, a cell phone as a modem.
