The modern work environment and how work gets done have changed dramatically over the past couple of decades, for both large and small organizations. Geographic dispersion, mobility, 24/7 connectivity, and information overload have become commonplace. And to accomplish all this, knowledge sharing is a key element.

Legal Services of Northern California (LSNC) has first-hand undergone a knowledge sharing transformation over the past few years. With employees collaborating across 14 offices, servicing one-third of California, and having to get information from over a hundred thousand client cases and over a million documents and records, the challenge was certainly daunting. To address this, LSNC started "The Findability Project", where they tapped Google's expertise on enterprise search to provide their employees with simple and intuitive search across all their documentation. They then turned to cloud computing and deployed Google Apps, to not only provide their employees with a powerful email and collaboration system, but also to round out their secure, web accessible knowledge-content system.
