OLED screens get flexible A flexible, color OLED screen suitable for next-generation portable and wearable devices was unveiled on Thursday by Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute. Livescribe's Pulse Pen adds apps to its roster The original Pulse smart pen debuted last year from Livescribe, and has been popular with students who use the pen to take notes on special paper and record the audio, and then have them available for review later through synchronization with a computer. Samsung HDTV Is Versatile, Has Fun Features The Samsung PN50B650 isn't just a capable HDTV; its ethernet connection turns it into a multimedia machine, with access to online video, news and weather reports, and the photos and music stored on your PC. And with an estimated street price of $1200 (as of 12/7/09), it's a good bargain, too. HP's Smart Wi-Fi Frame Is No DreamScreen With its peculiar wavy design in black and a contrasting silver frame border floating on top, the 8-inch HP Smart Wi-Fi frame is...well, funky looking. It is also quite obvious that the frame is plastic, which is unfortunate. Delving beyond its somewhat futuristic appearance, however, I found that the Smart Wi-Fi ($145, as of 11/25/09) has a refreshingly straightforward, intelligently designed interface with simple icons directing you toward audio, video, photo, and online content.
