St. Amour doubled the group’s staff in 2007 and beefed up its outreach activities in Africa, South America and Asia in her bid to add another billion Internet users worldwide. Vista SP1 RC available publicly next week Microsoft Tuesday shipped Vista SP1 RC to select testers and said it would make the service pack publicly available next week. The SP1 release candidate is available on Microsoft Connect, and on Thursday it will be available to MSDN and TechNet subscribers. Next week, the general public will get access via Microsoft’s Download Center. Windows Server 2008 hits the streets Microsoft Wednesday made available the final beta of Windows Server 2008 and said it is on track for shipment at a planned launch event at the end of February. Microsoft made Windows Server RC1 available for download as a 30-day free trial or for evaluation until June 30, 2008 if the user requests a product key. RC stands for “release candidate” and signifies the software is ready for a final beta test before shipment.
