"https://secure.pulver.com/ip4it/register.html" ----------------------------------------- Editor's Note: VoIP's Promise: Tear Up Your Phone Bill If eBay's CEO Meg Whitman is to be believed, you can throw your phone bill out the window. During an eBay earnings call last week, she told analysts that VoIP will drive down telecom costs so much, in the future all your phone calls will be free. That doesn't surprise me. I wrote in my blog a few weeks back that VoIP is killing Big Telecom, and Whitman's proclamation was only one more bit of proof. That's not to say that VoIP is perfect. Far from it. There are plenty of security dangers associated with the technology, and in response, this week the Voice over IP Security Alliance took the first major step to combat VoIP dangers, by releasing a complete taxonomy of VoIP threats. But VoIP will soon change everything. I, for one, am looking forward to tearing up my phone bill. Now all I want is VoIP to get working on my tax bill.
