Thoughts from Interop 2013: The network has never been more important

Well, the 2013 version of Interop is now in the books and while conventional wisdom dictates that "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas," I thought there were a number of themes at the show that rose above the general noise of the event and are worth sharing. iTunes: Still slowing down Windows PCs after all these years

Over the years we've had to deal with antivirus programs bringing PCs to a screeching halt as they perform a "background" scan. At my last job, it was a morning tradition to plug in the PC, boot it and go for a walk while McAfee did the daily scan that reduced my PC to the speed of a 386. Ubuntu desktop is just easy

As some of you may remember I installed a dual boot Ubuntu set up on my laptop some weeks back using WABI. Windows 8 has passed the 100 million mark. That's the word from Tami Reller, the CFO of the Windows division at Microsoft.
