Yesterday, I wrote about how some analysts are saying 100G Ethernet is already overtaking the 40G market. This is contrary to the upgrade story we've been hearing from vendors that have backed 40G, Cisco among them.

 In the ongoing battle between Cisco and Juniper for dominance in carrier networks, the two vendors have battled to a split decision in a recent Infonetics poll. Cisco came out on top for its carrier Ethernet switches, while Juniper won for its IP edge routers.
