CES video roundup: Boy, we were busy
OK, when I wasn't getting my rock star vibe on, I was able to produce a few videos at the show. Along with help from the IDG News Service, here's a list of my favorite videos and products launched at the show.

Video: Fire, flood won't stop this hard drive
My favorite video from CES last week was this one we did with the folks at ioSafe, which is selling a $150 external hard drive that is completely waterproof and fireproof. To showcase how practically indestructible this enclosure / system is, we submerged the unit into a pool, and then set it on fire. The video says it all.

Confessions of a CES "rock star"
Nothing stressed me out more at CES last week than agreeing to participate in SanDisk's "Battle of the Bloggers" Rock Band 2 Challenge. Held on Friday afternoon at the SanDisk booth, the event was held to try and see which gadget bloggers could "rock the hardest" during an 8-team elimination tournament of the game Rock Band 2. The event was held to promote SanDisk's new 2GB SD card that can be used with the Nintendo Wii version of Rock Band 2, so of course the teams were playing that version of the game (more on that later).

CES: Cool stuff from D-Link, Seagate
I hit my first press event last night, the annual pre-show Digital Experience gathering where hundreds of journalists walk around a giant ballroom and either try to avoid PR people, talk with each other (gossip!) or actually talk with tech vendors about some new products. I did a little of each of those, here's a wrapup of some of the cool products I saw at the event.

Welcome to Vegas, CES time!
OK, I'm going to try and remain positive, despite a trip that began with a two-hour flight delay, de-icing of a plane, a 6-hour flight in which another passenger passed out about two rows in front of me (first time I've ever heard a flight attendant ask for a doctor over the intercom), a wicked-bad migraine and then the fireworks/music extravaganza that is the Siren show (the old pirate show at Treasure Island was much better) blasting right outside my window as I write this. I'm officially in Las Vegas, and despite what possibly was the longest run-on sentence I've written in a long time, I'm still ready to hit the show floor and press previews and cocktail parties and cab lines (wait, maybe those will be shorter since "nobody" apparently is coming, at least to the cab driver I spoke with on the way in) at the Consumer Electronics Show 2009.
