Environmental Innovations Take the Lead at DEMO

DEMO 09-Register now and SAVE!

You see the term 'green' everywhere these days. It's become such a cliché that it's difficult to distinguish between a true market-changing technology and just another company trying to climb on the "green" bandwagon. Everywhere that is but at DEMO.

DEMO's rigorous screening and interview process ensures that only the very best, newest and most disruptive technologies are chosen to present themselves on the DEMO stage. Every DEMO applicant goes through this intense prescreening process with no exceptions.

We look for green, lean and smart partnerships in every business plan we review. Then again, what else would you expect from the leader in innovation than to lead the way on green technology?

Here are just some of the environmental innovations that have been featured at recent DEMO shows:

  • Green Plug (DEMO 08), inventor of Greentalk - a secure, digital protocol between power supplies and electronic products - recently teamed with Innergie to release the first implementation of Green Plug's open systems intelligent power interface. Green Plug has also been innovative in getting their products out to the market, including ground-breaking web programs directed at consumer feedback.

  • Boston Power (DEMO 07) makers of the Sonata laptop battery - that promises to last at least three years without any degradation in performance - has continued to come up with innovative ways to get their products out to the market, particularly through its partnership with HP. They also announced $55 million in new funding to secure a Series D round led by Foundation Asset Management (FAM) and included existing blue-chip investors Oak Investment Partners, Venrock, GGV Capital and Gabriel Venture Partners.

  • Fusion-io (DEMOfall 08) launched its first solid-state disk at DEMO and has been a rapidly growing success story ever since, closing more than $19 million in Series A funding in March 2008, surpassing sales targets and impacting new green IT strategies with large customers. The company will soon launch a complete storage-area network solution that is small in footprint but huge on impact, both on data management strategies and green data center initiatives.

  • Microstaq (DEMOfall 08), a world leader in the design and manufacture of Micro Electro Mechanical Systems-based flow control valves that enable material energy savings across several industries, received an additional $12.5 million in Series B funding post DEMOfall 08.

Even DEMO is taking green initiatives.

We are looking for green initiatives close to home as well, changing the way we run the conference....by reducing paper products, using recycled materials, delivering content on-line and in smart-phone friendly formats.

DEMO sees "green" as true market changing technology that allows us to conduct business in better, faster and more cost effective ways.

Register to attend DEMO 09 now and put some green in your pocket. If you register by the end of the day on January 27th, you'll save $300 off the registration fee plus receive a $100 Amazon gift card (via email).
