Riverbed upgrades boost big WAN transfers, 10/22/07: Riverbed Technology is announcing at Interop New York software and hardware upgrades that are focused on optimizing traffic between data centers.

Juniper shrinking SSL traffic for the WAN, 10/22/07: Juniper Networks' WAN acceleration gear will soon support optimizing SSL traffic, making better use of corporate bandwidth by reducing the amount of bits it takes to transmit SSL traffic across wide-area links.

Buzzblog: Unlimited gall to cost Verizon $1 million: Unlimited really means unlimited, even in advertising. So says the New York State Attorney General’s Office in squeezing a $1 million settlement out of Verizon Wireless for disconnecting 13,000 of its customers who had the temerity to believe that the unlimited service they were promised came with unlimited service. Verizon’s statement explaining the settlement is a gem, too.

Stick with Riverbed for WAN Acceleration. They are the best of breed solution. I work for a Cisco Partner and we are also a Riverbed partner because they have the best technology. I have a lot of comparison data on all the competitors if anyone is interested. Forrester, Gartner, etc...
The "all-in-one" router is a bit scary. If the router at the branch goes down the branch office is basically out of business. This has to be considered when looking at the cost of downtime for each of your locations.
