WAN News Alert, 10/17/07 FCC lifts AT&T pricing restrictions, 10/12/07: Despite the objections of some telecom providers, the FCC announced today that it will grant AT&T relief from pricing restrictions for its broadband infrastructure and fiber capabilities. Carriers line-up for Tokyo WiMAX licenses, 10/12/07: Two groups filed applications on Thursday for licenses to provide mobile WiMAX service in Tokyo, as the government approaches a decision on issuing licenses for the high-speed broadband service. Nortel pays $35 million to settle SEC financial fraud charges, 10/15/07: Nortel Monday said it will pay and $35 million to settle civil fraud charges stemming from a 3 1/2 year investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
