Read Now Is WiFi killing us ... slowly? What would it take to get you to stop using cellphones and WiFi completely? How about your kids getting cancer? Read More iPhone 6 rumor rollup for the week ending Aug. 22 iPhone 6 rumors swarmed as iOSpherians count down the days and hours until the expected, but not confirmed, Sept. 9 announcement. Panic ensues. Late this week, the iOSphere went slightly gaga when an "exclusive" Reuters story claimed that Apple had only recently discovered a problem with its display technology and had to redesign part of the assembly. Causing, you know, delays. Some folks are busy predicting iPhone 6 sales; and other folks are busy posting about them. Lots of variability, which is to say "everyone is just guessing." Also this week, the sapphire screen, which may or may not even appear in 2014, is now reported to cost $100; more non-evidence that iPhone 6 will include NFC; and the amount of iPhone RAM is still being hotly, if fruitlessly debated. And Apple may be on the verge of eliminating one of Life's Maddening Little Annoyances: figuring out which end of that USB cable is up.To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here Read More Plug-and-play Android security layer outlined by NC State researchers A modified version of Android uses a system of modularized plugins to help make sure the latest security tools make it into the hands of end users as quickly as possible. And despite mountains of cash that would make most other companies on the planet green with envy, some of these same critics are quick to proclaim that Apple's influence as a tech innovator is waning. The counter, of course, to this is that true innovation takes time and can't be rolled out on an arbitrary time schedule. Over and above that, the Apple rumor mill for quite some time has been rumbling with news that a new product category may soon be on the way.I'm of course referring to Apple's rumored iWatch, a device which has been making its way through the Apple rumor mill in one form or another for quite some time now.To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here Read More WHITE PAPER: BMC Software A New Opportunity for Capacity Planners Mainframe software costs are the cost driver in many company's IT budgets and as such an increasing concern.
