In a unexpected, though perhaps not shocking, development, Microsoft early this morning announced that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, after a lifetime of work in Redmond, will be retiring in 12 months time. Steve Ballmer has said he would retire from the company when his last kid goes to college, which means 2017 or so.
