From Bradley Mitchell, your Guide to Computer Networking
More than 75 years ago, a man from Belgium envisioned an information system that incorporated many of the good features of today's Internet... without some of the bad ones. Though he didn't play a prominent role in the development of computers and networks, Paul Otlet and the Radiated Library was an amazing concept.

Networking With Cell Phones and Cell Modems
Mr. Otlet's system used telephones to request information from the remote library. In those days people weren't tempted by Angry Birds or other such games and took the time to actually read things. But the advantages of cell phone networking are significant too.

Introduction to Client Server Networks
The Radiated Library was an early type of client-server system. They just didn't call it that in those days. The Internet is actually a collection of many client-server systems, like FTP and the DNS.

Who Created the Internet Network?
By the time the rest of the world caught up to Mr. Otlet, new generations of people were on the scene working hard to develop what would become our modern day Internet. Just who were these people?

What Is Fixed Wireless Broadband?
Fixed wireless broadband is a type of high-speed Internet access where connections to service providers use radio signals rather than cables. Radio was one of the most popular electronic communication medium back in Paul Otlet's day, but the average person would be stunned by how much computer data travels over radio waves today.
