From Bradley Mitchell, your Guide to Computer Networking
Rumors are spreading that Linksys is for sale. We aren't talking about a router, we're talking about the whole business. Even if it doesn't go for as much as Cisco paid to acquire Linksys years ago, we're still talking a lot of money.

How To Set Up a Linksys Network
After purchasing a Linksys router and perhaps other Linksys equipment, you have several options for how to set up the computer network as described here.

Linksys Router Default Local IP Addresses
This page lists the default IP addresses for Linksys routers. Home network routers are set up to use a default IP address when first powered on. This allows you to access the administrative functions for router setup.

How to Change the Name (SSID) on a Network Router
Home Wi-Fi routers use a name called the SSID to identify themselves on the local network. Manufacturers set a default SSID for their routers at the factory, generally using the same name for each. Linksys routers for example, all typically begin their life with an SSID of "linksys." To improve the security of your network, you should consider changing its SSID.

Readers Respond: How Much Does Your Internet Cost?
"Most if not all of these people are getting ripped off and I am not sure how it is possible. I have a 33.0 Mbit connection, 30 Down + 10 up give or take a few when I am running at load. I pay 65 dollars a month and I have paid that for about 7 months now. That is all I pay for my Internet, so if anyone is paying more then that for less, that is just wrong and you need to up and find yourself a better provider.... " -Steven A.
