From Bradley Mitchell, your Guide to Computer Networking
It sounds like Facebook is experimenting with free Wi-Fi hotspots through business affiliates. Everybody loves free Wi-Fi... as long as they're saving money or making money. As a business owner, would you partner up with Facebook on such a thing?

Free Online Wi-Fi Hotspot Locators
When planning your next holiday or business trip, use these services to locate hotspots on a map and get the Wi-Fi information needed to access them. You probably won't find any Facebook hotspots yet, but its amazing how many free hotspots are already out there.

Do Not Auto-Connect to Open Wi-Fi Networks
Connecting to an open Wi-Fi network such as a free wireless hotspot exposes your computer to security risks. Although not normally enabled, most computers have a setting available allowing these connections to happen automatically without notifying you (the user). This setting should not be enabled except in temporary situations with your (the user's) awareness.

Wireless Security Hacks and Horror Stories
Wireless network security is a concern not just for free hotspots. From a recent post by one of our readers: "... I went to my daughter's computer to share my phone Internet and there was Bluetooth on remote access, and someone named 'creator' in her browser. I couldn't believe this, so I looked further. Our Xbox license was taken and then her phone locks up... ." -HELP

How to Find an IP Address
You don't need to be a techie to find your network IP address. The method you use to get it depends on the situation, though.
