From Bradley Mitchell, your Guide to Computer Networking
Have you picked up a Windows 8 PC yet? Some who have are noticing the new Remote Desktop for Windows 8 app in Windows Store. Remote desktop is a convenient way to use the resources of a computer remotely across a network connection. Just as people were interested in remote desktop support on the iPad when it first came out, the same idea applies to Windows tablets. There are some downsides though.

What Is Remote Access Computer Networking?
Remote desktop services are one form of "remote access" network technology. Some types of remote access only give you a plain terminal window to work in, but remote desktop gives you... well, a full desktop interface.

Introduction to Network File Sharing
Computer networks allow you to share files with friends, family, coworkers and customers efficiently, which can save you time and money. Remote desktop is just one way to do it. Are you familiar with all of the common methods for file sharing?

Top Internet Remote Access Software
Issues with remote desktop include compatibility (a person can't just hook up to any random device) and performance (playing a real-time game over a remote desktop session isn't much fun). If remote desktop isn't exactly what you want to do on your network, perhaps these other remote access systems make sense instead.
