Survey: Mobile Application Development—Chance to win a 32GB iPod touch

While smartphones and tablets feature powerful, HTML5-compliant browsers, between their small displays and outsized user expectations, developers often bypass browser-based apps for native versions. What's the right app philosophy? Is "Web when you can, app when you must" appropriate for the mobile era or do smartphones and tablets herald a return to more native development? Perhaps a hybrid approach, placing a native UI skin around a mobile-optimized HTML app works just as well?

InformationWeek is conducting a survey to explore mobile platform development options, where and why enterprises are building mobile applications and what they are looking for in mobile IDEs and development tools. The results of this survey will appear in an upcoming issue of InformationWeek as well as in an in-depth report.

This survey will take about 10 minutes to complete. Upon completion, you will be eligible to enter a drawing to receive one Apple 32GB iPod touch valued at $299 from UBM TechWeb. This survey sweepstakes is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Apple®.

Your responses will remain confidential and will only be reported in aggregate.
