Cisco extends Tandberg deadline again
Cisco has once again extended its deadline for videoconferencing leader Tandberg to accept its raised offer for the company. Cisco hiked the offer for Tandberg to $3.4 billion from $3 billion on Nov. 16 and gave the company's shareholders until Dec. 1 to accept.

Cable industry floats broadband adoption program
A cable industry trade group has proposed a program that would help low-income families of middle-school students get broadband service in their homes, with cable broadband providers pitching in about US$572 million worth of discounted service over two years.
