The Palm Pre is going for less than a hundred bucks again, and this time you only have to rush over to your closest Web browser to get it. The online cellular retailer LetsTalk.com is offering the Palm Pre for $99.99, after a combination of mail-in and instant rebates. That means you'll pay $199.99 at the checkout, but once (or should I say if) you send in Palm's mail-in rebate you'll have bragging rights to the $99 Pre. Verizon slashes smartphone prices

As much as I like what Samsung is doing with its new Go netbook (known as the N310 overseas), the company is about this close to surpassing Asus as the king of the shotgun-delivery method, releasing netbooks every 2 minutes. Never mind my cattiness, though. The Go is a stylish and far-from-subdued portable that's shaped like a big rubber pebble. In fact, I'd say that this colorful competitor could match Dell's run on the classroom with the Latitude 2100. Alienware M17x
Turns out you can put a price on laptop power. To be precise, Alienware's M17x costs $3849 (in our review unit's configuration, as of 7/29). Families, don't be surprised if you see the Dell Latitude 2100 show up in a classroom near you. As I've written in the past, Dell is aggressively targeting the K-8 education market with this line of rugged-looking netbooks. At the time I played with a preview unit, the machine seemed good. The Sonos Digital Music System has a lot of things to like, but the thing that grabbed people at its launch in 2005 was the controller: It looked a bit like an overgrown iPod, complete with touch-wheel navigation and a big, beautiful screen. By now, though, that controller has started to seem a bit heavy and clunky. So it was time for Sonos to update its remote, and the company has done a fantastic job. Lenovo IdeaPad G530
Let's start by stating the obvious: At $499 for a 15-inch budget laptop, Lenovo's IdeaPad G530 won't win any benchmark sprints. For a notebook to get into this low price range, sacrifices have to be made and corners cut.
