I try to avoid driving, and good luck finding me on any airplane. That's why the idea of Wi-Fi on trains gets a mention in this week's newsletter. The other selected topics are all cool also, for different reasons.

In the Spotlight
LimeWire P2P Client Downloads
LimeWire was at one time one of the hottest free software downloads on the peer-to-peer (P2P) scene. While some other P2P clients have gone defunct, LimeWire Basic and PRO remain available and supported. If you are fan of LimeWire, share your reasons why in the feedback section of our download page.

DISCUSS: User Passwords for Routers
Some wireless routers such as the D-Link DI-624 allow you to a set a user password. Separate from the administrative password that routers use to control access to their management functions, a user password is intended for anybody attempting to join the network. Things get complicated if you have occasional friends over for a visit, though, as our message board member 'seal010' describes.

The Wi-Fi on Trains Conference (2009)
The Royal Horseguards hotel in London is hosting a fourth annual WiFi (sic) on Trains Conference June 10th and 11th. But I can't get there from California by train so won't be attending.
