Google to Buy Twitter? Report Says Deal is in the Works

The rumor mill is in full gear over speculation that Google may acquire Twitter. The news comes from two separate and unnamed sources that claim talks between Google and Twitter are in the late stages, according to TechCrunch's Michael Arrington. However, Arrington says he has spoken to a third source that says talks are just in the early stages. Arrington says his third source claims the talks may only result in the two companies collaborating on a real-time search engine for Google. There's no word on how much a Google-Twitter deal could be worth, but most estimates put it in the $1 billion range with Google paying a mix of cash and stock. Read full story

After Conficker: A PowerPoint Zero-Day Flaw
Just when you thought you were safe from dangers such as the Conficker worm comes another hole in Microsoft's security, this time in the form of a PowerPoint zero-day vulnerability. Microsoft issued a statement yesterday warning PowerPoint users not to open unknown or unexpected PowerPoint e-mail attachments. These .ppt or .pps files may contain a virus that allows remote code execution, meaning hackers can pirate your computer and force it to function at will.

CTIA Wireless: LTE comes into focus
In the two weeks prior to the CTIA Wireless convention, Motorola's team of technicians went to work building an ad hoc 4G wireless network on top of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
