Backing up clogs enterprise systems, 10/17/07: Backup volumes in many organizations have grown so large they are causing business disruption by tying up systems, storage, and network capacity and hogging valuable IT resources, according to a recent survey commissioned by storage management software vendor BridgeHead Software.

Microsoft starts shipping updated backup software, 10/17/07: Microsoft Wednesday announced at the Storage Networking World conference that it has started shipping its System Center Data Protection Manager 2007 software.

Beware of hackers targeting storage systems, 10/16/07: Corporate storage systems and networks are an attractive target for hackers looking to steal sensitive data or launch computer attacks, Alan Lustiger, security architect at TD Ameritrade, told an audience at Computerworld's Storage Networking World user conference in Dallas Monday.

Vendors at Storage Networking World show off new wares, 10/18/07: Storage Networking World in Dallas this week is the playground for a bunch of new storage gear and appliances from the likes of EMC, Hitachi, Copan Systems, IBRIX and Mellanox.
