Spending priorities shift from security to consolidation, virtualization: survey, 05/18/07:  IT executives in the next 12 months will be focusing their budget dollars on projects such as server consolidation and network upgrades, as previously high priorities such as security, risk management and compliance fall off their Top 10 lists.

Green storage means money saved on power, 05/21/07:  In a perfect world, you easily could rein in the rapidly increasing amount of power that storage systems consume just by telling users to stop stockpiling data. In the real world, you'd lose your job for suggesting that.

Fast IBM Power6 chip enters slowing Unix market, 05/21/07:  Facing a slowing Unix market, IBM released its Power6 processor on Monday, its fastest chip yet for high-end servers. The chip runs at double the speed of its Power5 line, but uses the same amount of power.
