IBM lays off 1,315 workers, union says, 05/01/07:  IBM Tuesday laid off 1,315 U.S. workers from its global services division, a union group under the Communications Workers of America said Tuesday. Intel cutting up to 1,000 jobs in New Mexico, 05/02/07:  Intel plans to lay off as many as 1,000 workers when it stops producing flash memory chips at an outdated fabrication plant in New Mexico this August, the company said Wednesday. Zafirovski maps out Nortel strategy, 05/02/07:  Nortel wants to become a leader in helping companies and carriers take advantage of an explosion of network connections, President and CEO Mike Zafirovski told shareholders on Wednesday, according to a company statement. Court rejects Vonage request for retrial, 05/03/07:  A U.S. federal appeals court has rejected Vonage's request that it order a lower court to retry a patent-infringement case against the company, Vonage confirmed Thursday. Google urges shareholders to permit censorship, 05/02/07:  Google's board of directors has recommended shareholders next week vote down a proposal that would require the company to legally resist government censorship efforts and to notify users when the company is required by governments to censor search results. Vonage files to vacate patent ruling, 05/02/07:  Internet based phone company Vonage says a recent ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court has given it new life in a crippling lawsuit with telecommunications giant Verizon.
